An afternoon in Sighișoara's old town
Wander the cobbled streets and citadel walls of one of Europe's few still-inhabited medieval towns, with time to stop where you like.
3–4 nights to discover a little more of Romania, without using all your holiday.
Ideal if you have a long weekend rather than a fortnight, or want to add Romania onto a bigger European trip. A short break gives you enough time to properly explore one region without rushing between highlights or living out of a suitcase.
Three or four nights is enough to get a genuine feel for a region of Romania — a couple of days around Bucharest and the wine country nearby, or Brașov as a base for the mountain villages and castles close by. Rather than trying to cover the whole country, a short break settles into one area properly.
The pace stays unhurried even in a shorter window. Most days centre on one or two things done well — a guided walk through a historic town, a long lunch, time to sit somewhere with a view — rather than a packed list of sights ticked off against the clock.
Short breaks suit:
They run either as a small-group departure (up to 12 guests) or as your own private journey, with a bilingual guide and private or small-group transport throughout.
Departures are kept to a maximum of 12 guests, or you can travel privately, so the pace always stays comfortable and personal.
Your guide knows the towns, roads and people well, and can point you towards what's genuinely worth your limited time.
A short list of well-chosen hotels and guesthouses in each region, picked for comfort and character rather than convenience alone.
Each day is built around one region, so you spend your short break exploring rather than travelling between it.
Even over a few days, the schedule leaves room to linger over a meal or a view instead of moving straight on.
One person plans your short break from the first message and stays reachable throughout, so nothing gets lost between you and the details.
Examples only — every journey is shaped around your dates, pace and interests.
Wander the cobbled streets and citadel walls of one of Europe's few still-inhabited medieval towns, with time to stop where you like.
Visit a vineyard in Dealu Mare or Transylvania for a guided tasting of wines most short-break visitors never get to try.
See the castle made famous by legend, then continue into the quieter villages nearby for a very different side of the region.
Explore the Saxon streets and mountain backdrop of Brașov at an easy pace, with time for dinner in the old town.
A short drive into the mountains for a guided visit to one of Romania's most striking royal residences.
Ease into the trip with a walk past the Athenaeum and through the historic centre before heading out to the regions.
A short break only works if it doesn't feel rushed, so we plan around what a region can comfortably offer in three or four nights, not what would fit into a longer trip.
