Come for the landscapes.Stay for the stories.

Romania is a country of long meals, church bells and hills that look painted in watercolour. It's also a country full of people who'll tell you how things were, and how they are now.

We design every trip so you have time for both: for the view, and for the conversation.

Real moments

Romania, as we love it

Villages, mountains, painted monasteries, and the people who bring them to life.

Painted monasteries, wooden churches, market mornings, mountain roads and long lunches — a few of the places and moments our journeys are built around.

Someone has taken care of everything

The best trips look simple. Behind them is a lot of careful work.

How we work
  • Personal attention

We know your name, your preferences and how you take your coffee before you even arrive.

  • Small groups

No more than 12 guests, so you can enjoy the journey without feeling lost in a crowd.

  • Local knowledge

People who know the places we visit — and the people who make them special.

  • Comfort first

Carefully selected accommodation, comfortable vehicles and a gentle pace throughout your journey.

  • Tailor-made trips

Your journey can be adapted around you — more time here, a special interest there, or a completely different route.

  • One point of contact

One person to speak to before you travel, while you're in Romania and whenever you need us.

A horse and cart passing a wooden house in Bucovina

We don't believe Romania should be seen in a hurry.

The moments that matter happen when you have time: a village lunch that stretches into the evening, a monastery almost to yourself, a story shared over a drink made at home.

That's why we plan fewer stops, longer stays, and days with room to breathe.

The people behind the journeys

Who we are,and why we do this

Romania Soul Tours is a small, family-run tour operator for Romania only. We plan slow, personal journeys — small groups of no more than 12 guests, and private or tailor-made trips — for travellers from the UK and beyond. We're not a call centre and we're not a catalogue of coach tours. We're the people who plan your journey, answer your messages and stay in touch while you travel.

Nick's story

Romania Soul Tours was founded by Nick. Long before the company existed, he had spent years working in hospitality and tourism from the inside: travel agency operations, tour operating, hotel reception and housekeeping, hotel management, restaurants, marketing and running his own accommodation — in the UK, Romania, Malta, Greece, Croatia and Dubai. Every one of those jobs taught him the same thing: guests remember how they were looked after, not how many places they saw.

Our roots in Câmpulung Muscel

Nick's family roots are in Câmpulung Muscel, in Argeș, close to the Rucăr–Bran pass — the old road between Wallachia and Transylvania, through hills, villages and mountains. It's the Romania of Sunday lunches, church bells, hay in the fields and people who still stop to talk. That is the Romania we want our guests to feel.

What our travellers say

★★★★★
“This april I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Romania Soul Tours, and I can truly recommend them to anyone looking to discover the beauty and authenticity of Romania. From the very beginning, everything felt personal and carefully organized. Our guide was a incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate person who clearly loves what he does. He specializes in private tours in small groups, which makes the whole experience intimate and special. It never felt rushed or overly “touristic”. It felt like traveling with a friend who knows the country inside out. On top of that, the activities he arranged were truly original and memorable. We wanted a mix of history, sport and top attractions- and we got exactly what we expected. Thanks to our guide we didn’t just see Romania- we felt it, understood it, and fell in love with it. It’s a place we will definitely return to, and when we do, we won’t hesitate to travel with Romania Soul Tours again. An unforgettable experience from start to finish!”

“This spring we had the opportunity to discover Romania with Romania Soul Tours and the experience was very positive. It is definitely a recommended option for those who want to get to know the country in a more intimate and authentic way. From the very beginning, you could see the care for organization and attention to detail. Our guide was very attentive, had extensive knowledge and a passion for sharing his culture. In our small group, there was a free and pleasant atmosphere, far from the crowds on the tours. Instead of feeling like a typical tourist, we felt more like a traveler with a friend. The attractions also made a difference: they were well planned, diverse and unconventional. We wanted to combine culture, a bit of activity and visiting cultural sites, and the result exceeded our expectations. We can't wait for the return! ❤️”
